This course explores compassion fatigue and stress within the context of fostering, recognising the unique emotional demands placed on foster carers.

Participants will develop an understanding of how ongoing caring responsibilities can impact emotional wellbeing, the body, and the brain. The course encourages reflective practice, helping foster carers recognise signs of stress and compassion fatigue in themselves and consider the personal barriers that may prevent effective self care. Through guided reflection, participants will identify practical ways to strengthen resilience and support their own wellbeing, enabling them to provide the best possible care for children and young people.
