This course provides male carers with a perspective on their role in the care of looked after children.
Aims and objectives:
- Consider the role of men in fostering, especially in working with children and young people who are in care and the impact this has on safer caring.
- Explore some of the challenges male foster carers may face, including the need to confront discrimination in practice
- Reflect on the emotions that working with children in care can arouse.
- Encourage one another in our roles as male foster carers.
